Mr Hoshikawa, Head of International Sales Division.
Along with senior officials from Hitachi's international sales division meetings were also held with Hitachi's President and Representative Director Mr. Ueda and General Manager Mr Nagamatsu. All at Hitachi were keen to learn of GB's success in Australia with Hitachi's premium quality Neo SBR roller chain. Since taking on distribution of Hitachi in late 2005 GB Power has built a committed and loyal distribution network for Hitachi Neo SBR roller chain which offers features not available in many of the other market leading brands.
Following a visit to the Neo SBR chain manufacturing works only an hour from Hitachi's Tokyo head office, Mr Grattan seen first hand why these features will ensure users of Hitachi SBR roller chain continue to get maximum service life and productivity from their roller chain. The key to this success is the SBR solid bush manufactured from solid bar to ensure perfect contact points on load bearing side plates. Hitachi does not use split bushes like many of its premium quality chain competitors which under load begin separating and elongating very early in there service life. Hitachi's SBR solid bush chain is standard throughout the range from1/2" pitch to 3" pitch in both British and American standard chain stocked by GB Power. Neo SBR offers the chain greater maximum allowable load increasing tensile strength and fatigue resistance by incorporating other unique features including the double shot peen process of the pin and bushing which has significantly increased chain fatigue strength.
Stringent quality control observed at the factory governing material quality, machining and the heat treatment process will ensure Hitachi's Neo SBR premium quality reputation will continue for years to come. Unlike many of its rivals Hitachi has a strict policy that all of its chain products are manufactured in Japan ant not other developing economies to cover the market for low cost chain. If it's Hitachi it is Premium Quality every time. Contact GB Power and our distributors for further information, sales and promotional literature. www.gbtrans.com.au
GB Visits Hitachi Conveyor Chain Factory - Kanto Works
The recent trip to Japan by GB Power also took in a tour of the Hitachi Kanto works, one hour west of Tokyo City. Here Hitachi manufactures a wide range of standard and custom built conveyor chain and accessories for some of the industries largest companies. Chain designed and manufactured in house at the Konto works cover a wide range of industries including sugar, mining, manufacturing and heavy materials handling. Known in Australia for their premium range of products for the sugar milling industry Hitachi enjoyed an outstanding reputation for quality and performance in this industry in times of greater local representation. Many existing Australian mills have had experience with the Hitachi brand for their bagasse conveyor and intermediate carrier chain along with heavy duty offset drive chain for main mill drives. The visit has encouraged GB Power who up until now has concentrated solely on the promotions of the Neo SBR roller chains to the other products from Hitachi's Kanto works.
Hitachi are capable of producing premium products for the mining industry such as coal handling conveyor chains and accessories. There speciality lies in the ability to take existing applications and custom design improvement to provide dramatically improve chain life. Although unable to take any pictures whilst visiting the plant GB Power Transmissions managing Director pictured inset in front of the Kanto works seen various large conveyor chain assemblies for the coal handling, steel manufacturing and cement industry under production.
Promotion of these specialised chain products and Hitachi's expertise in the field of customer heavy chain design and manufacture will now be on the agenda to GB Power Transmission and our customers.
